Travel & Documentary Photographer
Images of people and places in Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, France, Italy, Montenegro, Eastern Europe and beyond
Travel and documentary photographer Rudolf Abraham has had a camera around his neck, over his shoulder or somewhere generally close to hand, since he first saved up for two years and bought himself a battered-but-built-like-a-tank old Nikon F, at the tender age of 11. These days he works across Europe for UK and international magazines, specialising in human-led stories, traditional culture, and hiking and outdoor features set among some of Europe’s wildest and most remote mountain areas – with a particular focus on Central and Eastern Europe, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria and France.
Rudolf’s images have been published in the pages of B. Inspired (Brussels Airlines inflight), BBC News, BBC Countryfile, Courrier Japon, The Economist, France Magazine, Geographical, Hidden Europe, The Independent, Meridiani, Morning Calm (Korean Airlines inflight), Mountain Pro, National Geographic Traveller, OE (Outdoor Enthusiast), Songlines, The Telegraph, TGO (The Great Outdoors), Wanderlust, Vanity Fair and others, as well as books published by the likes of Bradt, Cicerone, DK Eyewitness and National Geographic Traveller, and the portfolios of the British Life Photography Awards.
