I was chuffed to win the BGTW Photographer of the Year award at the British Guild of Travel Writers Members Awards dinner at the Savoy in London on Sunday evening. The award was for four images of Croatia, published by BBC News, Bradt, the Economist and elsewhere. Here’s one of them:

The other winning images were of Plitvice lakes national park in winter, the Roman amphitheatre in Pula and the Rijeka Carnival.
Thanks to the Belgian Tourist Office – Brussels & Wallonia who generously sponsored the evening, which featured a surprise appearance from Michael Morpurgo, author of War Horse – not to mention one of the amazing horses too. The photography award was sponsored by Maxx Royal Hotels & Voyage Hotels. Click here to read the press release.
