A rainy day in Sibiu, Transylvania

I’m in Sibiu – European Capital of Culture 2007, with its beautifully preserved medieval core – for a couple of days, working on the updates for the Bradt guide to Transylvania. Here are a few photos from today…

  1. Rudolf, Loved the shots of Sibiu. We were in Romania a year or two before the wall came down – 1986 – frightening. Better now I think. It looks like a small brown bear asleep in that covered street – please tell me its not! Dave H.

    1. Thanks Dave – yes, it’s a beautiful place. Definitely a sleepy brown dog rather than a sleepy brown bear, stretching and looking particularly contented at the time…!

  3. Love these – I was there about 10 or 12 years ago. I don’t think it has changed that much, thank goodness. I like your offbeat views very much.
